Le Bandit Hold & Win is a video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released on 15 September 2026. Players are reunited with Smokey the Raccoon for another adventure through the backstreets of Paris.
Rather than introducing a brand-new concept, the studio returns to one of its popular series and gives it a Hold & Win makeover. The familiar setting and mischievous Racoon protagonist remain, but the action now plays on a compact 3×3 grid with two Hold & Win features and Jackpot Prizes.
Although the streamlined format offers a more accessible approach, it sacrifices the charm and variety that helped establish the Le Bandit series. Still, an impressive 97.48% RTP and Hacksaw’s proven Hold & Win formula could be enough to tempt players back into Smokey’s world.
Quick Facts
Le Bandit Hold & Win at a Glance
Technical
Le Bandit Hold & Win was developed by Hacksaw Gaming. It features a compact 3×3 layout with 9 fixed paylines and is available with stakes ranging from 0.05 to 400 per spin. The default RTP is an impressive 97.48%, although it’s always worth checking the version available at your chosen casino. Medium volatility balances the maths, while the maximum win is capped at 2,500x the bet.
Design
Hacksaw Gaming have stripped back Le Bandit Hold & Spin to the essentials. Smokey the Raccoon returns to the streets of Paris causing havoc, while the compact 3×3 grid and Hold & Win mechanic become the main attraction. The familiar cartoon-style graphics remain, with the grid taking centre stage. Smokey stands beside the reels, while the Paris backdrop and jackpot ladder frame the action without dominating the screen. Although it lacks some of the personality and detail from the original Le Bandit, it doesn’t lose sight of what it set out to do.
Symbols
The paytable is split between two low-paying and three premium symbols. Kings and aces make up the lower tier, with three matching symbols returning 0.2x the bet. A bear trap, a loaf of bread, and a hat occupy the premium positions, paying between 1x and 3x for three of a kind.
Several special symbols also appear throughout the game. These include Coin Symbols with values ranging from 0.2x to 50x the bet, along with Rainbow and Epic Rainbow Scatters. During the Bonus features, blank, Clover and Pot of Gold symbols are also introduced, but more on those later.
Features
Le Bandit Hold & Win includes Coin & Jackpot Symbols, Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win, Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win, and a Feature Buy menu. We’ll take a closer look at each one below.
Coin and Jackpot Symbols
Coin and Jackpot Symbols form the foundation of the base game. Landing three or more in view awards their combined value. Coin Symbols are split into three value tiers:
Bronze Coins: 0.2x to 2x the bet
Silver Coins: 3x to 9x the bet
Gold Coins: 10x to 50x the bet
Four Jackpot Symbols available:
Mini Jackpot: 5x the bet
Minor Jackpot: 25x the bet
Major Jackpot: 250x the bet
Grand Jackpot: 2,500x the bet
Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win
Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win follows the familiar respin formula and is triggered by landing a Rainbow Scatter during the base game. The feature begins with three respins and resets to three whenever a Coin, Jackpot, Clover or Pot of Gold symbol lands. Blank tiles do not lock on the reels.
Two special symbols can appear throughout the feature:
Clover Symbol – Activates once the feature ends, applying a multiplier between 2x and 20x to every Coin, Jackpot and Pot of Gold symbol in view.
Pot of Gold Symbol – Collects the values of all Coin symbols and any active Pot of Gold symbols on the reels. Collected Coin symbols are removed from the grid, and only one Pot of Gold symbol can land per spin.
Completely filling the 3×3 grid with special symbols awards the combined value of all the symbols. Filling the grid awards the combined value of all visible symbols before the next round begins with an empty grid. Once the respins end, the feature pays any remaining Coin, Jackpot and Pot of Gold values.
Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win
Landing an Epic Rainbow Scatter during the base game activates Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win, awarding three respins. The feature follows the same rules as Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win, but starts with a full grid of Coin, Jackpot, Pot of Gold and Clover symbols already in place. Coin Symbols also receive a boost, increasing their minimum value to 1x the bet.
Feature Buy (Not available to UK players)
Hacksaw Gaming has included two Feature Buy options, for access to both Hold & Win features:
35x stake – Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win (97.50% RTP)
100x stake – Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win (97.49% RTP)
Verdict
Le Bandit Hold & Win takes the series in a different direction but doesn’t step out of its predecessor’s shadow. Beyond adapting the formula to a Hold & Win format, there is very little new to discover. It lacks much of the creativity and flair that helped establish the original Le Bandit. Hacksaw has retained Smokey’s unmistakable charm and combined it with an impressive RTP of 97.48%, but the simplified mechanics and modest 2,500x maximum win leave this release short of the standard set by its predecessors.
