The African Savannah is barely a new subject matter when it comes to the themes of online slot games, which means any new slot that arrives with this concept already has a lot of direct competition to beat off.
However, King Tusk, one of the newest with this idea, comes from Microgaming, a developer which has proven itself more than capable of taking well-worn themes and moving them in new directions. So, have they managed to do it again?
Design and theme
This five-reel, 25 payline slot certainly doesn’t look particularly different in terms of the imagery and artwork, with the Savannah in the background, where rhino and other animals are visible, with two sets of elephants and a pot of gold playing the part of high values, while the lower values are represented by the traditional playing card symbols.
The artwork is stunning, but it’s also derivative and uninspiring, which is a combination that is unlikely to set the iGaming world on fire in a hurry.
The charging elephant is the wild symbol here, and will switch for all but the King Tusk scatter symbol to help with winning combinations.
Gameplay
The design is attractive, but not particularly impressive, which leaves the features with a lot to do here, which is a challenge, as there is only one.
