The first Book of Kings slot saw Jane Jones in Ancient Egypt on the hunt for treasures. This time, she’s in the Himalayas, with Buddhist temples covered in snow and tall, snow-capped mountains in the background with shards are light peaking through. The background design is rather beautiful, but the reels look a little basic and out of place in comparison, which is a little surprising for Playtech.
10 to A royals make up the low value symbols, and a pendant, a Buddha, a Buddhist God and Jane Jones make up the higher value symbols. Jane Jones is worth the most, paying 400x your stake for 5 on a payline. There are also scatter and wild symbols which are the day and night books.
Gameplay and Features
Gameplay begins in day mode and at any time the night mode can trigger randomly. Night mode gives you free spins and it will stay in night mode for at least 3 free spins. During night mode, only the night book wild/scatters land. When at least 2 land in any position, you’ll receive 5 to 10 free spins. A symbol is chosen to expand to fill the full reel, increasing your chances of winnings and you can also re-trigger the free spins by landing more scatters/wilds
During day mode, when at least 3 day book wild/scatters land, you’ll receive 10 free spins and up to 200x your stake depending on how many landed. A random symbol is chosen to be expanding and you can retrigger the free spins with no limit.
Verdict
This is a solid sequel and the additional day and night modes add extra excitement. But there’s nothing particularly innovative about it and the maximum win of 4000x your stake is much less than the original Book of Kings slot which was 15,000x your stake.
