Immortal Romance has been a player favourite for some time and now it’s had a re-boot with 4 added progressive jackpots. Immortal Romance: Mega Moolah, from Microgaming, combines features of the original title with the mega moolah progressive jackpot up for grabs. It features cascading wins, free spins with free spins mode choice, multipliers, wilds, scatters and symbol swaps.
It’s a highly volatile game with an RTP of 93.4% and is available to play on desktop, tablets and mobile devices. Bets start from 20p and rise to £6 a spin and the top prize is 12000x your stake on the standard game.
Immortal Romance: Mega Moolah Design
The design is very similar to the original with a vampire theme and dark gothic imagery. The 5×3 reels sit against stone walls with gothic arches, and the HD graphics show plenty of detail, especially the symbols.
Symbols are ornate 9 to A royals in grey, which are joined by a haunted house, a candle and four character symbols: Michael, Troy, Sarah and Amber. The game logo is the wild and this can replace any standard symbol as well as paying up to 30x your stake. The gold, ornate door knocker is the scatter which triggers the free spins round.
Gameplay and Features
Any wins see the winning symbols removed from the grid and new ones dropping down to replace them, hopefully forming new wins. At any point, between 1 and 5 reels can randomly turn wild, with the potential for all wild reels and paying 12150x your wager.
Landing at least 3 scatters triggers the free spins where you have the choice of modifier based on the game characters. You’ll always start with the Amber feature which gives you 10 free spins and a 5x multiplier. Then once you have unlocked the Chamber of Spins, you will trigger the Troy feature which gives you 15 free spins and a vampire bat which can triple payouts. 2 bats give you a 6x multiplier.
Next up is the Michael feature, starting with 20 free spins and rolling reels which come with a multiplier up to 5x. Last up is the Sarah feature which gives you 25 free spins, and a wild vine. When the vine lands on reel 3, up to 14 symbols turn wild to boost your chances of winning.
In order to win the all-important progressive jackpot, the bonus wheel needs to come to life. It activates randomly and you need to land on the mini, minor, major or mega segments to win that prize. The mini starts at £10, the minor starts at £100, the major starts at £10,000 and the Mega jackpot starts a £1million. The average mega jackpot is around £3million and drop every 3 months on average, although sometimes, players can win tens of millions.
Verdict
Although the original has an RTP of 96.86% and this is lower at 93.4% it’s the progressive jackpot that every player will be drawn to. Gameplay is as good as the first and even without the progressive jackpots, it’s worth checking out.
