Play N Go’s new title Idol of Fortune draws its inspiration from the ancient deity Ganesha, a remover of obstacles with the wisdom, loyalty, and compassion of the mighty elephant.
Whether it’s Egyptian, Norse, or Greek mythology, many software developers continue to design slots around this popular genre, but none seem to have focused on Hindi deities.
About Idol of Fortune
The game takes place over 5 reels with 243 paylines. It comes with a top prize of 10,000 the bet and has a medium to high volatility. RTP sits at an average of 96.20%.
On loading the game, it’s apparent throughout the level of quality invested by Play N Go. Developed with the highest quality graphics, the Ganesha stands behind the reels and becomes animated as you spin the reels. A beautifully designed Hindi temple stands proudly surrounded by a background of purple inscribed with intricate flowers and a gold border.
On the reels are low values represented by the card suits, along with high-paying snakes, peacocks, mice, a lion, and an elephant, the latter awards 10x for 5 in a combination. The wild is a gold door and substitutes all regular symbols in a winning combo. The Ganesha is the scatter and the hand holding a tusk is the mystery symbol.
Gameplay
In terms of bonus features, they are not unique; however, these can prove to be highly lucrative, let’s take a look:
The game is all about the free spins, these trigger after landing 3 or more Ganesha scatters on a single spin. Once triggered you have a choice of six different options:
20 spins and 8 mystery symbols
15 spins and 18 mystery symbols
12 spins and 28 mystery symbols
10 spins and 38 mystery symbols
8 spins and 48 mystery symbols
A special pick with up to 20 spins and up to 88 mystery symbols
The mystery symbols are only in play during the free spins, they remain in place and spread, they are then removed for the next spin. Between 1 and 5 gold reels can appear randomly at any time during the free spins. If a wild symbol lands on a gold reel you’ll receive gold coins, 3 matching coins award a prize of 10x, 25x, 500x, or 5,000x the bet.
Verdict
Play N Go has pulled out all the stops with Idol of Fortune, the design is unique compared to other slots in this genre. As I mentioned earlier the features are not unique, however, the free spins and mystery symbol combination can prove extremely lucrative.
