Heart of Rio Design

Heart of Rio is an explosion of colour, with bright pinks, purples and oranges in the background, complete with bold coloured birds, feathers, carnival masks and drums. The graphics are excellent and as you’d expect, there is a lively samba style soundtrack accompanying the gameplay.

The reel have a dark green background and consist of gold J to A royals, a mask, a cockatils and two carnival queens. Another carnival queen with the red headdress is the wild and can substitute all regular symbols, and the drums are the scatters. The glitter ball money symbols appear on the 1^st to 4^th reel and money collects only land on the 5^th reel.

Gameplay and Features

The two main features are the cash collect and free spins. The glitter balls have cash values and when these land alongside a cash collect symbol on the fifth reel, you trigger one of the 5 cash collect features.

There is the basic collect feature where you’ll win the total of all the glitterballs on the grid.

The Extra Credit Collect where an extra credit is added to the glitterball totals and paid out.

The Multiplier Collect is when the monetary values are added then the multiplier amount is applied to your winnings.

The Expanding Collect is when additional money symbols are added to the reels to boost your winnings.

The Respin Collect is when money symbols on the grid lock into place and a respin occurs, hopefully adding more money symbols to your total.

When you land 3 scatters on the 3 central reels, you’ll receive 8 free spins and 1x your stake. During the free spins, any money symbols are collected in a meter and on your last spin, colossal symbols land, filling reels 1 to 4. If you land a cash collect then you’ll win the full amount in the bonus pot as well as your other free spins winnings. Landing another 3 scatters will re-trigger the free spins.

Verdict

This is a bright, bold, fun game to play with the added bigger wins coming from the cash collector rounds. The top prize is bound to attract players and it’s a good solid effort from Pragmatic Play.
