Griffin’s Throne

By Becky M. | Updated 13 November 2024

Based on Greek mythology, Griffin’s Throne is the latest slot released from IGT. This slot has an RTP of 96.05% and you can wager from 75p up to an eye-watering £2250 a spin! It is optimised to play on all devices and features include free spins, multipliers, scatters, wilds and sticky wilds.

Griffin’s Throne Design

This slot is based on the mythical Griffin creature; who has the body, back legs and tail of a lion, but the front legs, head and wings of an eagle. The reels sit within a large stone temple with the griffin sat at the top. In the background is a heavenly blue sky with semi-transparent stone pillars to the back and flaming pillars to the side. It’s one of the best looking games out there and the intense soundtrack compliments the overall majestic feel to this slot.

Symbols include the 9 to A royals as the lower value symbols, along with shields, helmets, vases, swords and the griffin as the higher value symbols. The griffin is the highest value and 5 in a combination will pay out 1.66x your wager.

The wild can appear on the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th or 5^th reels and substitutes all but the multipliers, scatters and sun symbol.

Gameplay and Features

The free spins and multipliers are the two main features. Free spins are triggered when you land at least 3 scatter symbols. The reels become 12 symbols high and you’ll get 10 free spins on the 90 paylines. Another 2 scatters will award 2 more free spins and you can land up to 150 free spins which is pretty impressive.

The multiplier is the sun symbol and can appear anywhere on the reels. Up to 5 mulitpliers can land at once and when this happens, the griffin and wilds become sticky. The sun symbol will transform into a golden pillar with 12 symbols which contain 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x multipliers.

Verdict

Visually, there isn’t much to beat this slot; it’s incredible. There’s not a huge amount of features but the generous mulitpliers and free spins more than make up for this. High rollers will love the whopping maximum bet, but some may feel the 75p minimum wager is a bit too steep.
