There is atmosphere a plenty here as the game takes place inside a huge stadium at night, with the lights shining down and crowds of fans looking on. The 6×4 reels sit centre stage and the graphics are sharp and detailed.
The symbols are stylised characters ranging from Egyptian themed to Viking themed and either side of the reels are large speakers where you trigger the encore and bonus track.
The lower paying symbols are the 9 to A and the higher values are Thor, Lucifer, Anubis, Medusa and Athena. There are 2 wilds which can both replace any regular symbols, but one comes with an extra feature.
Gameplay and Features
The cascading reels come into play after each win. Winning symbols drop from the reels and new ones cascade down to replace them and hopefully give you another win if you’re lucky.
If a charged wild lands, the multiplier reel underneath increases by 1x up to a maximum of 11x. Any wins are multiplied by that amount and if you have several multipliers active, they’re combined giving you even bigger wins. The charged wild then explodes on the grid, blasting away all adjacent symbols and dropping to the bottom of the reels. New symbols then drop down to fill the empty spaces and the symbols which dropped off are collected in the bonus meters at the sides.
If you collect 30 symbols, the Encore feature is activated and 1 to 3 charged wilds are added to the reels. When you collect 55 symbols, you’ll receive 8 free spins where the multipliers are carried over and remain for the entire free spins round.
Verdict
Gods of Rock has a great design which manages to be a little different to the other rock themed slots. The gameplay is different too which makes it really engaging and certainly worth a spin or two.
