In terms of design and theme, Goblins and humans go head-to-head as the humans try to stop the Goblins from pilfering treasure.
A huge castle sits in the background and an angry-looking Goblin sits to the left of the screen with what looks like a bag of loot in one hand and a string of pearls and a gold coin in the other.
On the reels are various items representing the symbols starting from the low values to the high, these include scrolls, Skull Keys, horns, Goblin head bombs, chests, elf warriors, and of course the Goblins.
Gameplay
Look out for the Golden Lion money symbol, this symbol triggers the Powernudge feature. When six of these land on a spin, the feature triggers, and all regular symbols disappear from the reels revealing only money symbols and blanks. You’ll notice above the reels a multiplier bar starting at 1x, once the reels stop spinning if a money symbol lands you’ll receive:
Between 0.1 to 50x the bet
A multiplier worth 1x, 2x, or 3x is added to the bar above the reel it landed on
A 1x, 2x, or 3x multiplier is added to all of the multipliers above all the reels.
The money symbols also reveal cash prizes, these are multiplied by the multiplier above the respective reel and then paid out. Once this happens, they return to the Golden Lion symbol and drop down a position while the other reels respin. This continues until all the money symbols disappear off the bottom of the reels.
Rather than wait to land six money symbols, depending on your jurisdiction there’s an option to buy into the respin feature at a cost of 100x the bet.
Verdict
Goblin Heist Powernudge is a fantastic sequel to Rise of Giza with similar gameplay and more besides. Incorporating the Powernudge and the money respins is unique to a degree and not what we are used to seeing in modern slot design today.
