Gator Gold Gigablox Design
Yggdrasil are normally leaps and bounds ahead in terms of design, but this does seem a little flat in comparison to some of their other releases. The background is the plains of Africa, with watering holes, trees and the clear blue sky, with fairly simple graphics.
The reels have 2 ornately carved totem poles either side and symbols consist of 9 to A royals as the lower values, with gators, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras and meerkats making up the premium symbols. The gator is the most lucrative and will pay out for just 2 on a payline, where every other symbol needs at least 3 on a payline.
There is a scatter symbol which triggers the free spins round and a wild which can substitute any other symbol to help you form a winning combination.
Gameplay and Features
Apart from the Gigablox mechanic where the symbols can take over 3×3 positions, the main (and pretty much only feature) here is the wild multiplier free spins. If you land at least 5 scatter symbols on a spin, that is the number of free spins you’ll receive. Every time another scatter symbol lands, you’ll receive an additional free spin.
During this round, there are 2x and 3x multipliers on the reel which can really boost your winnings.
Verdict
Gator Gold is a little empty in terms of features, but the wild multipliers and free spins keep the action flowing nicely. There is a decent top prize of 20,000x your stake and although not the most exciting, it’s a decent addition.
