Chocolates Design
There’s nothing not to like about the design of this game; it’s bright, fun and full of chocolate! The layout is a 4 x 4 grid and is set within a Hanson & Gretel style house. The background is a beautiful lake and mountain landscape and as you play, it changes from daylight, to dusk, to night-time.
Symbols include wrapped chocolates along with card suit symbols and numbers.
The background music is subtle but fits well, and Big Time Gaming have gone back to basics in terms of game mechanics.
Gameplay and features
There are no megaways. Megaclusters or megaquad features here, but it doesn’t detract from the gameplay at all.
There are 2 wilds available with the Golden Wild the most valuable. Land on this and you’ll receive a 6x multiplier, boosting all winning combinations. If you get two this turns into a 36x multiplier and land three for a 216x multiplier.
If a yellow chocolate box appears during gameplay, this gives you 2 – 4 mystery symbols instead of just the one. Multiple boxes can drop during the game diving you more winning options.
To grab some free spins you need to land 3 or 4 scatters which give you 7 and 10 free spins. Scatter symbols then turn into sticky boxes and remain in place. If all boxes are filled with symbols, you can get up to 65,656 ways to win.
Verdict
For a 4 reel slot, Chocolates is really impressive. The reels rum seamlessly, the colours are bright and pretty and the whole thing is delicious in every way. It’s not the most innovative but if you execute a simple idea this well, it doesn’t need to be, and this is exactly what Chocolates achieves.
