Visually, this slot impresses straight away. Graphics are excellent and the game is set within a magical underground lair. It feels full of mystery, fantasy and sorcery. There is a green mist all around with stone archways and pillars surrounding the black reels.
Symbols include the usual Royals along with the Dark Wizard, Huntress and Book of Darkness. The Book of Darkness is both the wild and scatter but doesn’t appear during the free spins round.
Gameplay and Features
The free spins are what this slot is all about. These are triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters land. You’ll win 2x your wager plus 10 free spins for 3 scatters, up to 200x your wager and 20 free spins for 5 scatters. When the free spins begin, the Book of Darkness appears and awards you a special symbol just for this round. If this symbol lands at least 3 times on a spin, the reel expands to give you more potential wins.
There is also a ‘Clash for Power’ free spins round which lets you decide who you think will win in a battle between the Dark Wizard and Huntress. The free spins just keep on coming, delivering the characters symbols which add up in a meter to the side. It only ends when one of them finally wins the battle. If your character won, you then unlock the Shadowform Free spins.
This gives you another 10 free spins and expanding reels and a 5x multiplier depending on who won the battle.
Verdict
Visually, this is impressive and the action keeps coming with the free spins. However, it can be a little complicated for newbies and you might want to double check the rules. The lack of additional features is disappointing, but there are plenty of free spins to make up for it.
