UK Gambling Sets World Standard

The UK is one of the world’s largest contributors to the online gambling industry. Believe it or not, people in the UK spent a total of £7.1 billion at online casinos between 2013 and 2014. That total doesn’t include money spent on things like the National Lottery, for example, so the amount Brits spend on online gambling really is quite huge.
Industry Continues To Grow
Just over 10 years ago online gambling really started taking off. Casinos would start converting their games into digital formats and companies would launch online casinos from the ground up, complete with dozens of interactive and immersive games for players to enjoy. The online gambling industry has continued to grow ever since. The UK helped the industry a lot by introducing the Gambling Act 2005. This act enabled online casino operators to set aside more space for advertising and more space for attracting new players to the casino.
UK License
The UK Gambling Commission introduced a new rule in 2014 that required all online casino operators trading in the UK to hold a license distributed in the UK, no matter where the casino operator is based. Because of this regulation, all online casinos doing business in the UK need a licence otherwise they will be shut down. This regulation has also made the online gambling industry a lot safer and has closed a lot of dodgy loopholes.
New Regulations
So not only does the UK contribute a lot of money to the online gambling industry, it also helps it in other ways by introducing new regulations to ensure players have an enjoyable experience without encountering any problems. The online gambling industry is constantly growing and evolving and it’s exciting to see where it’s heading next. Virtual reality seems to the next big thing in the gaming industry and it wouldn’t be surprise if online casinos started incorporating virtual reality into their games. If this were to happen, there’s no doubt the UK would introduce some legislation to make this experience safe and secure for players and operators alike.
