Playtech's Super Deal
The company Playtech has recently announced that they have clinched a super supplier deal with Finland’s online casino and poker monopoly Rahaautomaattiydistys or RAY.
Playtech fortunes seem to be on the up and up as the news comes after the company had enjoyed a revenue increase of 25% on the same period last year as well securing a joint venture with Scientific Games, the top US Lottery operator.
Ray was first founded way back in 1938 and has over 19,000 slot machines and an additional 300 club casino games in action across Finland. Ray is worth some serious money with revenue totalling over €651 Million in just one year and a large contributor to this fortune can be attributed to the ownership of Finland’s only Casino, The Grand Casino Helsinki.
The 4 year deal was secured after a hotly contended tender process which saw Playtech come out victorious. Playtech has won the right to supply RAY with a world class technology platform for their online casino and poker games as well as an exclusive Finish Network.
Ray was given permission to move to tender after the Finnish Parliament gave it’s authorisation for it to launch Casino and Poker services online. At the same time the supplier Veikkaus Oy was also given the green light to take online bingo to the masses.
RAY plans to launch their online casino and poker later this year with a mobile capability is also expected to be included as part of the launch.
“By establishing a domestic online offering, RAY will be furthering its philosophy of responsible and trustworthy gaming. The unique player management tools we can provide will ensure a secure and safe operating environment in line with RAY’s core values.”
