In 1978, a revolution was started, and now, in 2016, thanks to Playtech, it will continue. Space Invaders is nearly forty years old as a game, but the announcement that Playtech will be releasing a Space Invaders slot, and the reaction to that announcement, has proven that this game is still as exciting to many as it ever was!A total nostalgia overload is guaranteed with this game, so what is there for players to expect?
About the game
A five-reel, ten payline slot, there have obviously had to be some changes made from the original format of Space Invaders to release it as a slot game.However, credit where it is due, the bare minimum amount of changes have been made, Playtech have stayed as loyal to the original concept of Space Invaders as it has been possible for them to do.Symbols include space ships, flying saucers, aliens, and all of the other symbols and images you remember from the original game.
Features
There are two main features here, the first being the Invaders Turn Wild feature. The cannon that appears on reels two or four takes a shot, and all lower value symbols are converted into wilds as a result, this can come up nicely if you’re fortunate.However, the opportunity for the biggest wins here comes with the UFO Wild feature which is triggered when the UFO symbol and cannon align.When this happens you get a re-spin with a randomised amount of wilds, which can be up to nine.
