Play N Go’s Starblast slot under dispute
The release of Play n Go’s latest slot Starblast has been put on hold due to a dispute with games provider NetEnt.
The game was reported to be better than NetEnt’s Starbust slot which was released back in 2012, with the addition of up to x9 multipliers.
Play n Go had scheduled the slot to be released on the 20th of March, but is no longer showing on the server.
Claim of cloning
NetEnt have claimed that that Starburst is a clone of their own slot Starburst, which is a popular slot with their players. The theme is the same and the titles are very similar.
It remains to be seen whether Play n Go will simply rename the slot and make some small changes, we will just have to wait and see.
Malta based Play n Go and Swedish based NetEnt have made no comment yet about this dispute.
It is not the first time that there have been disputes between slot developers. Play N Go are rumoured to be accused of an infringement by software developer Novomatic over their release of the Book of Ra slot.
