Virgin Games have teamed up with the Quickfire software platform and Genesis Games to launch a new slot based on Sir Richard Branson’s Caribbean retreat at Necker Island. The fifty line game comes with an additional row of symbols and offers the Locked Wild free game series plus a bonus feature that awards players 10 free games.

Warren Eloff, Virgin’s Head of Products commented that the company “wanted to create a game exclusively for our Virgin Games players”…” that truly summed up being part of the Virgin community.” And what could be more symbolic of the brand than its leader’s private holiday island?

Whilst some may feel that flaunting his expansive wealth to players during a global recession is outside the boundaries of good taste, Branson is generally liked by his employees and customers alike, so the game is likely to win more fans than it is to upset people. In fact, it probably serves as a testament to Branson’s enduring popularity that he can get away with something like this – at least in the UK anyway, where successful entrepreneurs are not generally liked for advertising their wealth.
Could famous fellow airline bosses Michael O’Leary or Stelios Haji-Ioannou have got away with this if they had a gaming website? It’s unlikely…
