NetEnt offers drastic change to some slot games
Ever the innovators in the online casino gaming world, Net Entertainment have set about making a change to the way that some of their slots offer free games. The new Free Round widget won’t directly impact online slot gameplay during the base game. Nor will it impact the RTP rates of NetEnt Engage slots. In fact, operators powered by NetEnt are under no obligations whatsoever to implement the new system. Instead, it looks as though it is set to be a feature designed to lure in players to playing their slots more frequently.
Speaking about the new feature, the chief product officer over at NetEnt – Henrik Fagerlund – said that the Free Round widget will offer performance boosts and features. It is believed that operators will be able to offer these free boosts whilst players are trying their hand at slots. From what we’ve seen, a spinning wheel of fortune will be laden with several free spins, ranging from 1 to 50 spins, and players may get to spin the Free Round widget, landing a few free spins for use there and then in the game.
It is not immediately apparent just which operators are going to implement the new feature straight away, nor which NetEnt developed slots will become part of the original Free Round run. In all probability, those casinos which are heavily reliant on NetEnt games to lure in their players will make the first move, offering the feature as one of their promotions and bonuses, although this is purely just speculation at this moment in time.
