Microgaming to Launch Batman Slots

Beating their rivals, Microgaming have hammered out a deal with DC Comics to make games using imagery and sound from the Warner Brothers films The Dark Knightand The Dark Knight Rises. The first game comes out this summer, and has come at an opportune moment: Microgaming have used their trademarked Cinematic Spins technology on the game, allowing players to increase the opacity of the reels as they spin to show animated scenes from the film.

This idea was also used on their celebrated Lord of the Ringsgame, but that slot will be disappearing shortly due to legal reasons, so this way they get to use the technology again rather than write off the entire development cost.

The Batman game will include all of the film’s major characters along with a full quota of features including a random progressive prize with four different levels, so players missing Lord of the Ringsreally will be well catered for. It will be rolled out to all reputable Microgaming casinos by the end of June, with the second instalment expected in 2013 and will put give Microgaming a much needed boost in the branded movie slot sector, where it’s previously been lagging behind rivals Playtech and Net Entertainment.
