Maria Hedengren confirms surprise NetEnt departure

In what is seen as a “surprise move” NetEnt Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Maria Hedengren has decided to call time on her tenure with the company.

Acting as a key stakeholder in the company, Hedengren is widely seen to be a leader within the NetEnt ranks, largely as she has headed up the brand’s financial initiatives and strategy since 2011. On top of that she has also improved NetEnt’s risk management, corporate compliance, and auditing procedures, while she has also had a hand in the all round international expansion of the brand. Following this announcement it seems that NetEnt are now on the hunt of find someone to step into Hedengren’s shoes.
Significant Contribution To NetEnt
Representing a surprise change at the top of the NetEnt corporate pile, many are eagerly anticipating the company’s next move. Speaking on the departure of Hedengren and what it means for NetEnt, Per Eriksson (NetEnt President and Chief Executive) said, “Maria has made a significant contribution to the success of NetEnt over these past years. I will miss our interactions and wish her all the best in her new position.”Following her NetEnt departure, Hedengren is by all accounts set to join an undisclosed firm, undertaking a new CFO role.
