Leeds United Teams Up with Unibet as New Official Training Wear Partner
Leeds United Football Club has recently announced a significant partnership with Unibet, a renowned online gambling operator. This collaboration will position Unibet as the official training wear partner for the club, starting from the 2023/24 football season. This announcement comes after Leeds United’s previous sponsorship with 32Red, another brand owned by the Kindred Group, which also owns Unibet.
Training Wear Promotion
The new partnership will see Unibet’s branding prominently displayed on the training wear of both the Men’s First Team and Women’s Team, as well as the coaching staff of the Men’s First Team. This development comes as Leeds United prepares to compete in the Championship this season, following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the last campaign.
The issue of sponsorship from gambling companies within football has been a subject of intense debate recently. The Premier League has decided to prohibit gambling companies from being front-of-shirt sponsors from the start of the 26/27 season. Despite this, Unibet has managed to secure a significant partnership with Leeds United.
Metaverse
In addition to this, Unibet has also made strides in the digital world by launching into the Metaverse, a virtual reality space where users can interact with a computer-generated environment and other users. This innovative feature allows customers to engage with various sports and casino game challenges.
Sam Mead, the UK Head of Marketing at Kindred Group, said, “We are delighted to be linking up with Leeds United once again through this new partnership. Our model of sponsorship provides benefits to both clubs and their communities – something we will drive forward throughout the season.”
This sentiment was echoed by Paul Bell, Executive Director at Leeds United, who welcomed the new partnership, “We are pleased to welcome Unibet as our new Official Training Wear Partner. We have previously enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Kindred Group through their 32Red brand who were on the Front of Shirt when we were promoted as Championship Champions at the end of the 2019-20 season.”
This partnership marks a new chapter in Leeds United’s journey, as they look forward to a promising season with Unibet by their side.
