Euro 2016 is obviously a huge event in the sporting calendar, and equally important for the world of sports betting, so it’s no surprise that the big names in the industry are striking early, starting with Ladbrokes.A series of major television adverts sees Ladbrokes Ambassador Chris Kamara, and Ally McCoist reunited to star after they were last seen together in a successful advertisement in 2007.

About the campaign

For now, the adverts are to be mainly focused on the rundown of the domestic season as the last few games get underway to the intense excitement of football fans everywhere. But soon attention will start to shift toward the Euro 2016 competition, and Ladbrokes say that the adverts will begin to take a more “continental twist” as the summer gets closer. The adverts are scripted by comedy duo Ivor Baddiel and Phil Kerr, showing that Ladbrokes are pulling no punches with this campaign. ladbrokes euro 2016

Key area of growth

The adverts will focus on in-play bets, Ladbrokes CMO, Kristof Fahy explains why:“Betting in-play is a key area of growth for our business so we’re celebrating the product experience and positioning ourselves as a trusted favourite for recreational bettors.”It is hoped that the addition of McCoist to the adverts will gain the attention of Scottish customers, Fahy says, and you can never go wrong with Kamara:”Kammy [Kamara] is a well-loved character of the football world so it’s great to have him back at the centre of our ad campaign, and Ally adds humour and recognition from our wide Scottish audience.”The series of adverts began on April 16th, 2016, and look likely to become very popular with a wide football loving audience.
