Donald Trump’s US Presidential campaign is now 7/4 to be successful

It was supposedly “never going to happen”, it was once as far out as 100/1, but now the fact that Donald Trump is in the presidential race is actually a reality. Defying the odds, he has now been officially announced as Republican candidate in the race for the White House. When Trump first announced his campaign, he was mocked, but it appears that the controversial and tough talking businessman has been able to generate serious momentum.
Hillary Still The Favourite
With that having occurred, and with the Republication nomination now under his belt, at William Hill, Donald Trump is now 7/4 to succeed current president Barack Obama. But as we know, it is not a race of one, as Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is still considered the favourite to the take the Oval Office at 4/9. While he may be playing second fiddle in the run up to the election, if his campaign has taught us anything, it is that you can’t write off Donald Trump.Speaking on the rise of Donald Trump and his chances of becoming US President, Joe Crilly (William Hill Spokesman), “Trump becoming President would not quite be in the Leicester City league of upsets but in political betting it would certainly ‘trump’ the comparatively short upsets of the EU Referendum outcome and the Tories winning the General Election”.
Punter Could Be Quids in
In an interesting story, it is clear that one punter really has an itch for political betting, which may come at the expense of William Hill. Placing a £5,000 wager on the UK leaving the EU and Trump becoming president, a £39,000 payout could await the punter should the second half of this double come in”. At the time Graham Sharpe (William Hill Spokesman) said, “The customer told staff it was the first time he’d had a political wager and that he feels both parts of the bet offer attractive odds”.
