Just two weeks ago, Microgaming announced that they would be releasing a Terminator 2 slot machine in the summer, based on the hit motion picture. Net Entertainment is having none of it, and they are releasing their own Hollywood hit movie inspired slot before Microgaming can get an advantage on them. If all is to be believed, the new slot will be themed after the hugely successful 20th Century Fox franchise, Alien. The second movie (which some say is the best), will be the focus of this new slot.

Get ready for launch

The announcement came at the recent ICE 2014 event. The slot, which is due for launch on April 24 is already attracting a positively massive following. A trailer for the new slot was recently released, and as the trailer reveals, there are going to be some absolutely top notch graphics and bonus rounds.

Queen of bonuses?

A few of the clips preview a bonus round where the player must acquire ammunition and grenades to literally shoot the xenomorphs (the franchise’s fancy name for aliens), in what is essentially a real to life shoot-em-up game. There will also be a Hive bonus round, which will no doubt feature the big bad mama, the Alien Queen, and her face hugging brood. Up to 240x the stake is thought to be winnable in this bonus, with 14x the stake available in The Search bonus round.

Red hot slot

This red hot release has all the makings of a cult classic and could go on to be Net Entertainment’s most valuable slot machine. After the success of their South Park slot machine earlier this year, the expectations will certainly be high.

Playtech had earlier announced this year that they too will be releasing more franchised slots. Franchised and themed slots appear to be the main focus of the slot world this year, as Net Entertainment will now attempt to go head to head with Playtech and Microgaming in what is looking like it is going to be a pretty amazing summer for slot releases.
