Casinos Must Tweet Responsible Gambling Messages

From the 10th March social responsibility is to be monitored with individual tweets on social media feeds according to gambling regulators. Big names in the gambling world such as Paddy Power, William Hill, Ladbrokes and Betfair will now have to include responsible gambling tweets on their social media feeds.
The Senet Group
The Senet Group, a gambling watchdog, have put forward these rules to enforce responsible gambling within the industry.Social media platforms will have to include ads provided by the Senet Group, this does not only include Twitter, but all other forms of social media and web platforms.Wanda Goldwag, the chair and independent commissioner of the Senet Group, has commented that “it’s important that operators are socially responsible in the way that they promote gambling, whatever channel they use”The Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT) studies have found, there are 877 Twitter accounts focusing solely on gambling promotion in the UK .
Advertising More On Social Media
Social media has been hit at the moment, more and more companies are shifting advertising on to social media. The UKGC and gambling watchdogs have been quick to jump in with threats, and restrictions being made on gambling advertisements. Using social media platforms for advertising is fast growing, the regulations have been set in place to protect players and make the industry more responsible.
