BetVictor renews sponsorship of the Gold Cup

Online sports betting and casino operator BetVictor have agreed on a 3 year deal to continue sponsorship of the Cheltenham Gold Cup until 2021.

Under the agreement, the race will be renamed The BetVictor Gold Cup, which will be worth £160,000 in prize money.

BetVictor will also be sponsors of three other events, the GC BetVictor.com Handicap Chase worth £60,000 in prize money, the BetVictor Handicap Chase worth £45,000 and the BetVictor SmartCards Intermediate Handicap Hurdle worth £25,000.

Previous winners of the Handicap Chase are Imperial Commander, who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and  Gay Trip a Grand National winner.

Matt Scarrott, Director of Sportsbook at BetVictor, said: ”The November Meeting is a prestigious and exciting event in the horse racing calendar, and with our strong heritage in the sport and ongoing support for British Racing we didn’t think twice when we decided to continue with the sponsorship of The BetVictor Gold Cup.”

Ian Renton, Regional Director, Cheltenham & The South West, said: “The November Meeting is very much a mini-Festival these days, with over 70,000 through the gates, and to work with BetVictor in its sponsorship of the highlight race of the fixture – The BetVictor Gold Cup – is something I know both parties find of huge benefit.”
