The phrase “there’s a new online casino in town” carries much less weight today than it once did. In 2017, there’s no surprise if a new site joins the market; for the most part, new casinos just get in line with those already established.

However, sometimes a new online casino arrives with some gravitas already behind it, and with trusted and experienced operators behind it, CasinoMax certainly fits this description.

These are all nice touches, but it takes a huge array of top-quality offerings to ensure a site will get noticed in this competitive market, so, after a good start, does CasinoMax manage to continue to impress with its design and content? Or does everything go downhill from here?

Design and theme

When you first visit an online casino, you must be instantly impressed. The casino-playing audience has no patience with sites that do not immediately capture the imagination, and that’s bad news for CasinoMax, because it really doesn’t.

A simple, uninspired colour scheme is matched by an equally dull design concept here. The intention of appearing game-focused is clear, and has often been an effective choice, but this is not one of those times.

A predominantly black colour scheme (once you get past the even more boring welcome screen) with glamorous looking models standing somewhere near casino equipment is a dated, and overused concept, and made worse by the fact that the execution at CasinoMax is worse than it is at almost all similar sites.

There is no chance any player’s imagination is being captivated here, in fact, what is more likely to happen, is that players will be immediately put off by the concept.

Navigation is simple enough, which is nice, but it doesn’t even come close to making up for the general disappointment this design concept brings.

Games

If the look of this site is disappointing, then the lack of variety and choice within the game's selection is almost impressive in its dreadfulness.

RTG are a good software developer, who provide some excellent gaming options, especially in the world of table and card games, and makes an excellent addition to a lengthy list of software providers.

But a lengthy list is not what you get here. CasinoMax only offers RTG games, and in the modern market, where the most popular sites are offering games from ten, twenty, or even more different developers, having just one, even if it’s a good one, just isn’t going to cut it.

That isn’t to say you won’t find games to play and enjoy here, because you will, but nowhere near as many as you will find at, let’s face it, most other online casinos.

It seems like CasinoMax has taken influence from the most popular sites and themes and gone out of its way to offer that, but substantially worse, and that is not something that is going to appeal in any way to the online casino playing audience, and a decent welcome bonus and good customer service is never going to be enough to fix that.
