Theme

Monkeys to Mars has a comic outer space theme with a male and female monkey astronaut going to Mars. The reels are set in the background of distant galaxies and the symbols on the reels are associated with space travel. The graphics are well designed. There is no background music during normal spins. Most of the symbols on the reels display animation when they appear in winning combinations.

Symbols

Symbols on the reels include The Launch Button which is the wild symbol and the Alien is the scatter symbol. The other symbols are the Monkeys to Mars Logo, Male Monkey, Female Monkey, Boots, Laser Gun, Oxygen Cylinder, Map, Walkie Talkie, Brown and Purple Crystal.

 

Wild

The Launch Button is the wild symbol. It only appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. The best animation comes from the Launch Button. When it is hit a rocket takes off across the reel leaving a cloud of smoke behind it. All the symbols on the reel then act as wild symbols. The wild does not offer any payouts.

Scatter and Bonus

The Alien is the scatter symbol. The Alien scatter symbol does not offer payouts. Three Alien symbols appearing on reels 2, 3 and 4 will trigger the Asteroid Bonus Feature. In this bonus feature the player selects five weapons to fire and receives credits.

Re-spin

Monkeys to Mars has a Rocket Re-spin Feature. This is awarded at random after any win. Before that the payouts for the normal spin are awarded. The re-spin takes place on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. There are bulbs above these reels and when any of them light up the re-spin feature takes place. The re-spins could take place on one reel or on all three. During the re-spin the Purple Crystal Symbols become Launch Buttons. If there are any payouts after the re-spins these are added to the player’s balance.
