Norway bans Neteller and Skrill payments for online gambling
Neteller and Skrill have been two of the most popular payment methods for online gamblers. However, for players in Norway, that has come to an abrupt end as both these e-wallets have now stopped any deposits to online casinos or betting sites from 8th December.
Blow to Norwegian betting industry
Players have used both Neteller and Skrill for years to make payments and deposits to online casinos. They’re both renowned as being some of the safest, fastest and most secure deposit methods, something at the top of every players wish list. But now Norwegian players will have to look for alternative payment methods to continue playing in their favourite sites.
This has already had a huge impact on both players, operators and affiliates alike. Gambling and affiliate sites have had to adjust all their content and advertising to reflect the changes and ensure all customers are made aware of the new rules with accurate and timely information.
Cash out date
Any players with funds in their online casino accounts that want to cash out via Neteller or Skrill, have until 21stDecember to complete their withdrawal, otherwise, they will have to use an alternative method.
Norway has a much more limited variety of payment methods accepted in online gambling sites, and now Neteller and Skrill are no longer accepted, the only alternative left is EcoPayz.
For Norwegians, Neteller and Skrill will only be available for ATM withdrawals, money transfers and non- gambling related payments.
