Gaming Realms shows impressive mobile-centric turnaround
Mobile gaming is an industry that is growing in size and stature by the day, with various names looking to get in on the action. After seemingly months of transition, it appears that Gaming Realms (Slingo.com) has been able to near-enough double its profit during the first half of 2016. Proving that the company’s pivot towards mobile gaming was a smart move, it appears that the related financial figures are showing real signs of life.
Reaping Dividends
This time last year, Gaming Realms worked to realign its strategic focus in order to further output via its proprietary Grizzly mobile gaming platform. Through this they have been able to devise and create innovative mobile content for free-play, social, and real-money mobile gaming. The figures don’t lie, as it shows that this shift is now reaping major dividends, total revenue for the 6 months doubled to £16.6 million. What’s proved to be the driving force behind this turnaround is the 140% boost in real-money revenues, as the Grizzly platform contributed £10.2 million to Gaming Realms’ coffers.
Increase in Players
The KPI metrics posted by Gaming Realms also impressed, as player numbers look to be on the rise. Average monthly user numbers grew by 250% to over 55,000, with new depositing players up by a similar percentage to 143,282. Proving that the Grizzly platform has legs, it’s clear that Gaming Realms are now right to lean on it as a product.
Streamlined Business
Speaking on the company’s improvements, Patrick Southon (Gaming Realms Chief Executive) said, “We continue to see lower player costs per acquisition than the industry average. At the same time, we have streamlined the business through the disposal of our third party platform bingo sites and marketing agency. In addition, we continue to sign strategic partnerships and licensing deals for our content, intellectual property and platform with blue chip partners, which underlines the long term growth prospects of the group.”
