Feature option to be banned from online slots by the UKGC

The UK Gambling Commission are set to ban the feature option from online slots, this feature allows players to buy into a special feature such as a bonus round at an extra cost instead of playing the game and hoping to trigger it.

The Gambling Commission have already notified the developers, but no date has been set as yet, but we are guessing it should be implemented as soon as possible.

The UKGC have deemed that the cost of buying in to these options can put more players at risk as it will encourage them to wager more money to purchase the options and the additional cost could be up to x100 of their wager.

Many online slots such as Extra Chilli, White Rabbit and Book of Gods include the buy-in feature, but some of the UK operators like Sky Gaming and Ladbrokes had already decided not to make the option available to their players.

Big Time Gaming, Barcrest, Relax Gaming, Yggdrasil Gaming and NextGen Gaming are just a few of the developers that offer this option on their slots. Whilst the feature can easily be removed from some of the games it will be much more complicated and expensive if the feature have been hard-coded into the slots.
