Brands Unite to Take Part in Safer Gambling Week
Safer Gambling Week is taking place next week, starting on 1st November and is running through to 7thNovember. It will see operators and gambling organisations unite in order to promote safer gambling and provide advice and information to players.
This initiative has been very successful in recent years and this year’s Safer Gambling Week hopes to replicate that same success.
1st to 7th November 2021
The Safer Gambling Week takes place between the 1st and 7th November and you can expect to find information in both land-based venues and online sites, relating to safer gambling practices and how and where you can get further information.
Venues such as bingo halls, high-street bookmakers, casinos and amusement arcades will display posters and leaflets designed to get players to question their own gambling habits and determine whether they are gambling responsibly. There will be staff acting as points of contact for anyone needing further advice and information on how to gamble more safely.
Online operators will have information about safer gambling, links and helpline numbers displayed, and will display information on how to set deposit and spending limits, as well as how to self-exclude.
The aim is to really get players to question how they gamble and ensure everyone is aware of the 5 key safer gambling behaviours. Social media outlets such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook will also be promoting this information.
Previous Successes
Last year’s Safer Gambling Week was hailed as a huge success, with advice and information reaching over 19 million people, a 19% increase in social media impressions and 18% more people visiting the Safer Gambling Week website.
Once again, the bingo Association, the Betting and Gaming Council and the British Amusement Catering trade Association will join forces with many UK gambling operators to continue to promote safer gambling habits among players.
