The temptation always exists to review a Nektan site entirely individually and with no connection to the countless other sites that exist on the network.
However, this is not easy, and it is due to Nektan that it isn’t, because all sites that come from this developer have quite a bit in common, and many of them are nigh-on identical in terms of layout and content.
It is often only the theme of a site that is different, and if you’re lucky, a few design touches or some artwork that reflects that concept, and therefore differs from its brethren site.
Past that, you’re pretty much just dealing with the same thing again and again which makes it difficult to discuss a site like Jackpot Jones, released in March 2018, like it’s anything but another one of the same thing that we’ve been seeing for years now.
It’s starting to get something close to offensive that Nektan don’t appear to believe that they must put any level of effort into producing top-quality casino sites any more.
The biggest annoyance is to imagine how incredible it could’ve been if Nektan put all their energy into one or two great sites, instead of numerous mediocre ones.
That being said, let’s try and approach Jackpot Jones with fresh eyes, we could be surprised (spoiler alert: we are not going to be).
Design and theme
The design here is themed around a pirate, Captain Chris Jones, and that is represented in the artwork.
We would say well represented, but that would be a lie, because apart from the image of two treasure chests in the background, and a sword being incorporated into the logo, there is literally nothing else here that brings the concept to life.
In terms of layout, you know what you’re getting here, thumbnails all over the homepage, that are both the same size, and in the same order as they are at many other Nektan sites, with navigational tools being simple, due more to their familiarity (you guessed it, they’re the same at nearly every Nektan site) than any actual ease of use.
Jackpot Jones is just another in a long line of disappointing sites released by Nektan in recent years, in terms of its design at least, they could have really run with the theme and created something visually impressive here, but they haven’t ever done that before, so it is optimistic to assume they’d do it now.
Games
The one thing you can always rely on with Nektan is that any site on this network will have an excellent selection of games. Granted, it’s often the same selection of games, but that doesn’t stop it being excellent.
There are also some Nektan slots here, such as the always entertaining Shamrock ‘n’ Roll. The site will tell you that these games are exclusive, that’s a strong word.
Yes, Nektan games are only available at Nektan sites, but as we have mentioned arguably more times than is necessary during this review, there’s more than a couple of Nektan sites around, so these games don’t feel exclusive, due to being available at a ridiculous number of different sites.
Jackpot Jones is excellent for games, and that should appeal to many players, but as with all Nektan sites, it’s nothing compared to what it could’ve been with just a little effort.
