The Phantom of the Opera comes to Microgaming
The world’s most popular opera is coming to Microgaming this year. The world-famous Phantom of the Opera is set to launch at Microgaming powered online casinos at an as-of-yet unannounced time. Of course, this Phantom of the Opera slot is based on the 2004 movie of the same name, and not directly the musical by Android Lloyd Webber. The movie itself is based on that opera though, so the similarities should be uncanny.
About the Slot
Microgaming’s new Phantom of the Opera slot machine is fully licensed from the Really Useful Group, and the slot was first announced at the ICE Totally Gaming 2017 event just a few days ago. The film took $154 million in box office revenue, and one would imagine that the slot will rake in far more than that for online casinos carrying the new game when it is eventually unveiled and launched.
Footage from the film will appear in the slot machine game, as will some of the hugely popular and well-known tracks, including the titular Phantom of the Opera song. Over 140 million have seen The Phantom of the Opera, and Microgaming sees that as a sure sign that their upcoming slot machine is destined for success at all the casino which carry it.
Other Branded Slots
The new Phantom of the Opera slot machine will be just one of many franchised and branded slots offered up by Microgaming. Other major branded and franchised slots include Bridesmaids, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, Hitman, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Tomb Raider, and more. Indeed, until recently the casino software developers also served up DC slot machines, although that license now belongs to their arch rivals Playtech.
Expect a further announcement on the launch of the Phantom of the Opera slot in due course.
