Strict Chinese Online Casino laws

Chinese Government Officials will be tightening regulation regarding online casino access. According to Chinese authorities, stronger laws are needed to prevent people from logging onto pornography and gambling websites in addition to sites containing controversial political information.

This follows on from the recent dispute between Google and the Chinese Government which resulted in the company relocating its operations to Hong Kong.

The Chinese Government Information Office said that this sort of regulation was necessary and commented;
“We will strengthen the blocking of harmful information from outside China to prevent harmful information from being disseminated in China and withstand online penetration by overseas hostile forces.”

It’s not uncommon for such strong regulation towards online slots, blackjack and casinos and not just in non Western countries. In the US, sports betting online is currently prohibited making it difficult to use online casinos without breaking the law.

Australia and France boasts plentiful offshore casino activity with the regulation in France allowing online gambling but only on websites seen to be “respecting public and social order” and in possession of a special licence. Russian gamblers do not get the opportunity to dabble on the internet as laws were passed back in 2006 making it illegal to log on and bet for money.

UK law permits online gambling providing the player is over the age of 18 so you could say we have the an easy ride where online gambling is concerned.
