Slots News: Slot Machine Manufacturer researching online expansion
WMS Gaming who manufactures Slot Machines for real land based casinos are looking into expanding to include online casinos. The Illinois based company has advertised for employees with online gaming experience in online gambling ops as reported by Casino City Times.
Positions for creative designer, affiliate manager, payments director and risk analyst have all been posted. The adverts state that this will be a UK Internet gaming company and that the positions will be located in London.
WMS has been a top manufacturer of machines for land casinos worldwide and may be looking to reclass its business to incorporate the possible overshadowing of land gambling by the online casinos.
The land based industry giant, Harrah’s Entertainment began offshore online casino operations with a view to opening in the American market which could be a move WMS hope to follow. Neither WMS nor Harrah’s have indicated that they will be accepting US customers but both may look to secure an advantageous position when market conditions change in the future.
US Congress is under pressure to regulate online gambling and protect individual choice to use Internet casino gambling. There have been a number of bills proposed to oversee and tax online casinos and regulating the industry seems to be gaining support for both practical and philosophical reasons.
